Dr. James Jaramillo

James D. C. Jaramillo was born in New Mexico, his father an immigrant from Spain and his mother an immigrant from Mexico, so naturally enough he was brought up bilingual, having equal facility with both English and Spanish.

His undergraduate degree was from the University of New Mexico, a B.S. in Chemistry and Biology. He began his medical training at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, from which he received his Doctorate. Returning to the United States, Dr. Jaramillo attended the University of Southern California to prepare for the U.S. boards, and after passing those served his internship at the Los Angeles Medical Center. Further training at the University of California at Irvine qualified Dr. James Jaramillo to practice psychiatry.

After a couple years working at the Long Beach Veteran's Hospital as a psychiatrist, James Jaramillo MD returned to his native New Mexico and joined the Bernalillo County Medical Center where he served in both psychiatric and general practice capacities.

Dr. James Jaramillo also taught and served in a supervisory position at the University of New Mexico Medical Center, and has been involved with various clinical trial studies in various capacities. He also directed the Medical Institute, Albuquerque, New Mexico, where in a grave mis-carriage of justice he was accused of defrauding the U.S. Government of funds. The court case cleared him of the most serious charges, but he was found to have made a minor error in his accounting procedures, and given a small fine. Certain media and websites have reported the original charges, but they fail to mention that most of the charges were thrown out as unsubstantiated. All charges were dropped against his alleged 'co-conspirator.'

In 2001 Dr. Jaramillo returned to Mexico, and has since worked in as a psychiatrist, general practitioner and in clinical research in Guadalajara and the Lake Chapala area. For more information on current pharmaceutical and genetic clinical trials research, see his Pan-American Research Associates website.
